Andrew Field

Andrew is the digital delivery leader within Beca’s Advisory Practice and a longstanding member of the BIM Acceleration Committee.

Andrew is passionate about driving collaborative behaviours in the construction industry and the role that digital technologies can play in enabling coordination and cooperation across the construction value chain. He draws on his experience of working with key clients such as Precinct Properties, The University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington and Auckland District Health Board to understand the drivers of such long-term asset owners. Andrew partners with clients and advises them on how to procure, manage and maintain digital information to enhance the operation of their built assets.

Better utilisation of BIM can unlock many of the cost and programme challenges currently facing the New Zealand construction sector, as well as providing benefits across the life of the building.

However, a large number of the industry’s current projects are falling short of optimal BIM usage. Jasmax’s Melanie Tristram, Beca’s Andrew Field and Assemble’s Steve Davis – who have collectively authored the third edition of the New Zealand BIM Handbook – will facilitate a lively discussion around the industry’s adoption of the technology and the collaborative behaviours required to ensure clients receive accurate, timely and meaningful data.
